Bunnies and Eggs for Easter? Nah.

Hello Stylistas!

I hope your Resurrection Day was focused on the true meaning of the day, the love of our Father for his son Jesus Christ and the sacrifice that was made for all of us. What a price to pay! Bunny rabbits and painted eggs for Easter?  Nah.

My post this week is bittersweet and late to boot.  A couple of weeks ago, I was pretty sure what my post would be about, but you know how life is…it can change at any moment. My photo shoot was complete and all I needed to do was finish my write-up, insert pictures and voila!  But as my dear friend Kimberly always tells me, “Man makes the plan, but GOD makes the master plan.”

Tragedy took me to the city of Dallas last Wednesday and demanded that I reflect and take thorough inventory of the blessings in my life. Maybe when the load is lighter, I can share my families’ testimony.

Off Shoulder Blouse. Midi Skirt.

Good morning Stylistas.

I pray that the week has been good to you!  I wanted to share with you a recent purchase that has become one of my new favorites. I walked into H&M a few weeks ago and fell in love!  It wasn’t the fact that the blouse in front of me was off shoulder (romantic feel), but it was the ethnic print!  I’m all about getting a deal and when I walked up to the counter to pay, it was $20 less than what the price tag read!  #winning

Another clothing item that is a must for any woman’s wardrobe is the midi skirt.  The one I am wearing in this post is from New York & Company and I have about 5 of them in different colors!  I bought them for a great price and they are easy to mix and match!  Especially when you are in a mad dash to get to the office and you didn’t plan out what you are wearing for the day!

It’s really not about buying the most expensive things on the rack.  It’s about choosing quality items that compliment your body type.  Style is about wearing an item that’s $10 dollars and making it look like it costs a million bucks!  See my post in a couple of weeks for a prime example!

Until next time, love and light.

Pastels for Springtime!

Hello Style Mavens –

Life happens so I’m posting this blog a day late!

I’m sure the springing forward of our time pieces this morning made us even more ready for springtime to arrive!  A time for cleaning clutter, blooming flowers, warmer weather and new beginnings!

pfs

I love reading fashion magazines and one of my favorites is InStyle. I ran across their January 2016 edition’s What’s Now! section that focused on the trend of wearing pastels this springtime.  According to writer Sharon Clott Kanter, the Pantone colors of 2016 are Rose Quartz  and Serenity.  Fancy names for pink and baby blue!

So, I decided to do some closet shopping and see what I could come up with and these hues are already in my wardrobe!  But for those of you who would like to liven up your current selection of clothing by adding some colorful pieces or maybe doing a little closet spring cleaning, contact me!  #letmestyleyou

My Weekend Obsession. The Converse or just a sneaker will do.

My Weekend Obsession. The Converse or just a sneaker will do.

Happy Saturday, Stylistas!

I can vividly remember vacationing in New York in the late eighties, walking amongst a sea of business women wearing sneakers with formal business suits.  This was the trend and necessary to save their pretty little feet from the agony of pain during long treks from the subway to the office. In 2016, sneakers have become the “new” stiletto for some.

Personally, I’ve always liked the look of sneakers with dresses or skirts or whatever else I choose to wear them with!  I’m okay with being called goofy or looking odd. Some will love the look, while others will hate it and that’s the price you pay for having your own personal style.  Have the courage to stand out from the crowd and be the best version of yourself.

My favorite sneaker is the Converse All Star, better known as the “Chuck Taylor.”

Quick fact: Converse are the oldest, most popular and all time best selling basketball shoe of all time!  60% percent of all Americans own or have owned at least one pair! Converse come in all colors, prints, high tops, low tops and can even be customized with leather skins and artwork.

Converse

Converse are my weekend obsession and I love them, but nothing can ever, ever take the place of this woman’s stiletto!  I’m just saying.

Until next time, peace and blessings!
